We'd barely met before we were off on an adventure! A day of freerando with Alexandre, starting from Les Orres and finishing with a wild 10 km descent all the way to Les Ribes.
We'd been meaning to meet Alexandre for quite a while now, and we finally did! We hit it off right away—within a few minutes, we were joking around on a chairlift like two old friends!
As die-hard freerando enthusiasts, we’re enjoying an effortless climb to the summit of the Les Orres ski area. Despite the cool morning air, the first rays of sun have begun to soften the snow on the eastern slopes we plan to ski down toward Petit Vallon. After just a few turns, we’re disconnected from the resort, from civilization… we’re nothing more than two temporarily conscious clusters of cells reveling in the joys of gravity!
As usual, the route takes shape as we ski along, and we end up at the summit of the Tête de l'Aupet, which closes off the valley toward the Ubaye... From there, a descent of over 10 km awaits us down to Les Ribes, where a stroke of genius led us to park a car—just in case! Some excellent skiing in places on the descent, a fantastic setting, and total solitude… Another stressful day!
