Ski touring to the Sommet de la Blanche: blue skies, spectacular views of Pelvoux and perfect powder for a memorable final day in the Écrins.

The mountain was very generous to us on our last day together... after the Larch from the first day and La Tête des Raisins yesterday, a drastic change of scenery. Here we are back under that beloved azure blue sky we’re totally hooked on. It has to be said that this year, the spirits of the people of the Hautes-Alpes are being put to the test—since we’re not used to having more than three straight days of bad weather!
This will be the perfect day to get up high and take in the view of the highest peaks of the Ecrins. To feast your eyes, there are plenty of hiking options in the area, but if there’s one that’s worth its weight in organic peanuts, it’s the summit of La Blanche, offering a front-row view of Pelvoux—which you could almost touch if you reached out!
We enjoy the climb as we take in the scenery, exchanging a few words but more often than not remaining silent, simply to savor this rare luxury.
The ascent also gives you a chance to fine-tune your turning technique a bit, which isn't always easy in deep snow.
The bright sunshine today lets us leisurely enjoy today's lunch box while taking in an extraordinary landscape made entirely of whipped cream and meringue!
Our trip ended with an unforgettable descent through powder of incredible perfection… not as deep as on the first day in the larch forest, much to Emilie and Régis’s delight. Magical moments when skiing multiplies the joy of being in the mountains tenfold!
