Introduction to Ski Touring – Weekend

Not quite ideal conditions for an introduction to ski touring in the Queyras! But the group I’m guiding is full of enthusiasm and bravely takes on the harsh local weather!

Group in bad weather during an introductory ski touring trip in the Queyras.

Not quite ideal conditions for a weekend introduction to ski touring in the Queyras! But the group I’m guiding is full of enthusiasm and bravely faces the harsh weather!

On the first day, we climb to the Col Agnel before skiing down to the Refuge Agnel for a cosy evening by the fire.

The next morning, we head towards the Col de Chamoissière in flat light—a good opportunity to introduce the group to mountain navigation! We enjoy a short descent in settled powder before returning to the valley.
