Tom returns for a ski touring day, determined to leave the resorts behind: getting used to touring gear and enjoying great snow in wind-sheltered valleys.
Tom is back this year, firmly determined never to set a ski in a resort again. After studying every available weather model, he gets in touch for a ski touring outing this Saturday, sensing a promising opportunity. Count me in! The snow conditions really aren’t bad at all—in fact, they’re downright excellent in the valleys spared by the wind.
Getting to grips with touring gear and shaking off his snowboarding habits takes a few turns, but Tom is clearly enjoying himself!
It’s good to see the mountains looking a little white again!
