Ski touring in Crévoux with Ludo: perfect powder among the larches, beautiful views over Lake Serre-Ponçon and two great descents before nightfall.

After yesterday’s great start, we’re sticking to the same formula today! Conditions are perfect in the forest, and the snow is so good that even the gentlest slopes offer fantastic skiing... so there’s absolutely no reason to go looking for anything steeper!
I suggest that Ludo discover the Crévoux area, a place packed with larch forests that seem almost made for skiing! The climb is wonderfully wintry. The trees are completely plastered with snow.
Not far from Le Méale, the view opens up over the fjord of Serre-Ponçon. Norway just half an hour from home — you've got to appreciate that!
Given the conditions, and since Ludo seems to have plenty of energy, I suggest a first descent on the Serre-Ponçon side. The sunshine and the upper part of the descent, with its views over the lake, are just too tempting to resist!
Great choice! The skiing is excellent all the way down to the cabin, where we put our skins back on to climb over to the Crévoux side again.
Just another 400m to climb before we can savour the untouched north-facing larch forest waiting for us... and there we have it, another full day of skiing, finishing just as darkness is falling!
