The Norwegian crew returns to Puy-Saint-Vincent: 50 cm of fresh snow, off-piste runs towards Narreyroux and long lunches to kick off our week together.

Just like last year, the Norwegian crew is back, more motivated than ever, bringing the snow along with them—that little detail the landscape had been missing! I’m happy to see my three lads again. They trust me completely with each day’s programme and put absolutely no pressure on me (except when choosing the restaurant: that’s serious business)!
To get our ski legs back, we start with two days of off-piste skiing in Puy-Saint-Vincent, exploring the forests and the descents towards Narreyroux... On Sunday, the conditions feel straight out of Japan! Tor, Karl and Eddy can hardly believe they’re skiing through 50 cm of fresh snow on their very first day... and savour this little gift from the heavens! I’ll admit I’m rather enjoying it too!
After a few runs, a proper lunch stop is called for: linking turns isn’t my companions’ only goal. Coming to France also means enjoying a good feast on a sunny terrace, with a nice bottle of red and a génépi or two to help it all down!
With this high-calorie diet, afternoons are a little less productive than mornings. But on the second day, it gives us a chance to loosen up our legs with a short ski tour in the vallon de Narreyroux and gently prepare for the rest of the week.
My Norwegian friends never neglect the après-ski... and as the designated driver, I have to rein in my fondness for all things hoppy, although this sometimes leads us to discover some friendly—even religious—shortcuts!
All in all, a lovely start, with plenty of promise for what’s to come!
