Climbing at Le Ponteil in the Hautes-Alpes with Julien: a day on the limestone of Nid d’Aigle, La Martine and Rôle en dalle, under the watchful eye of peregrine falcons.
After coming pretty close to perfection yesterday on the Tête des Raisins, we were slightly worried that anything we did today might feel like a disappointment — especially with the warm weather doing its best to ruin the snow...
Luckily, Julien is up for pretty much anything when it comes to the mountains, so I suggest swapping skis for rock and heading to our local crag at Le Ponteil.
Under the watchful eyes of the peregrine falcons nesting high on the cliff, we climb Nid d’Aigle, La Martine and the first two pitches of Rôle en dalle…
