In a heatwave, we get a taste of mountaineering in the Écrins, with ice skills, summits and naps in the sun. Suffering seems to be in short supply.

Another introduction to mountaineering in the middle of a heatwave!
Cindy, Gabriel, Vincent, Yolaine, Alain, Lætitia, Jean-Michel, Alicia and Florian have fallen into the clutches of two guides on whom altitude seems to have done irreparable damage!
The group is quick off the mark and soon learns the fundamentals of the sport: suffering and self-denial. A few individuals do try to enjoy themselves, but luckily the guides keep a watchful eye and steer them back onto the righteous path of mountaineering.
Another fundamental, particularly well suited to a heatwave, is the summit nap. These may be the only places in France where a nap in the sun is even possible!
Truly gruelling times, especially for the guides, who have to keep an eye on a group with a rather worrying tendency towards happiness. Tough work!
