Freeride skiing in Puy-Saint-Vincent: powder in the larches and an untracked Narreyroux to round off three great days of skiing with friends.

After the perfect days we’ve just spent in the Queyras, a weather front moves across the Hautes-Alpes, with the rain-snow limit forecast to be pretty high. We switch plans and head to Puy-Saint-Vincent, hoping to find more snow than in the Queyras without having to go too high.
It turns out to be a pretty good call: when we arrive in Puy, we’re right on the rain-snow limit at 1600m, with huge snowflakes coming down. Things are looking promising! The limit does move up and down a little during the day, but we still manage to find some really good skiing!
Two or three laps beside the pistes while everyone gets their various gear issues sorted out, then we head off for two lovely runs through the larches.
A quick restaurant stop to recharge the legs and, to round off these three days in style, we pull off a little heist in Narreyroux, which is still completely untracked at 3pm! Nothing but good skiing, apart from one patch of heavy, wet snow right at the bottom.
That’s how you spend three very different days, with some great skiing and plenty of laughs along the way! A big thank you to all of you for giving us complete freedom to choose the plans. As guides, it’s really nice to feel absolutely no pressure and to see everyone having such a good time!
See you soon!
