Provisions of the Convention

Right, we’d agreed there would be no alarm this morning… But the early-rising guides around us and today’s weather persuade us to postpone the lie-in until tomorrow! We’re still sticking to the idea of the shortest possible approach and nothing too hard… One route seems obvious: the Arête de la Convention, a chance for a little adventure on the Meije.

Still, there’s no need to rush breakfast. Let’s allow ourselves a few moments of idleness in this fast-moving world! Since we set off, time has spent more time watching us go by than the other way round!

So today’s outing is smaller in scale, but still serious and wonderfully varied! Mist clinging to the Meije and the surrounding summits wraps us in a soft, cottony atmosphere…
