With Pierre and Paul, I discover the Dents de Coste Counier traverse: good rock, an airy ridge and a shared mountain adventure above the Bans hut.

Pierre and Paul are back for their third year already! This time, we head into the Bans valley to discover the Dents de Coste Counier traverse together, a route I’ve heard plenty of good things about. It’s also a chance to say hello to Steph and the family and enjoy the usual good times at the Refuge des Bans!
No need for a middle-of-the-night alarm on this route… With Pierre and Paul, I feel relaxed! The atmosphere is easy-going. Father and son move well, whatever they may say to the contrary!
Once through the initial chimney, we follow the crest all the way to the summit. The climbing gives us no particular trouble, but becomes increasingly airy. A real treat on good rock!
A few photos say more than a long description…
We’ve already made plans for the Meije next year!
