Three days of beginner mountaineering in the Écrins with Pascal, Agnès, Hervé and Raoul. Clouds keep circling around us, creating some extraordinary mountain scenes…
Day 1 — Glacier skills
A first day on the glacier to learn the basics of crampon technique and get to know each other. We get off to a good start!
Day 2 — Pic d’Arsine
The following day, we head for Pic d’Arsine. A chance to put those first lessons into practice and continue discovering the high mountains.
Day 3 — Roche Faurio between the clouds
On our final day, we leave the crowds to head towards the Dôme des Écrins. We choose Roche Faurio instead: an equally lovely objective that we feel is better suited to the day’s conditions.
The icing on the cake is the day’s only clear spell, arriving just as we reach the summit, between two layers of cloud. The teams setting off later will not be so lucky!
The scenery and atmosphere are something we rarely get to experience. Everyone takes a moment to savour the spectacle.
